After I read “Why I write” by Joan Didion, I feel inspired. Not because I find out the answer “why I write”, but the way writing let us expose ourselves to others. She said writing is a powerful communication, it’s a way to connect people as well as express our idea, feelings, or even picture in our mind. I like how she explain that there are always 2 pictures in her mind before she write. Back then I usually imagine picture or scenes in my mind when I read book, but I never thought that I could even draw a picture in my mind and after that I can express it by the words. “Many people know about camera angles now, but not so many know about sentences. The arrangement of the words matters, and the arrangement you want can be found in the picture in your mind.” Joan Didion said. I always wonder why with those same word, some people can make it smoother and more beautiful. As we can see the importance of arrangement of the words, or even grammars. Indeed sometimes I know there is unlimited thoughts access our mind, but I have no way to speak out loud or express it by telling people. I choose writing, it’s the best way to express myself. Even though I know I’m not a good writer, but I try to describe and write the best I can with what we observe around my life.
